On May 11, at Palazzo Marino, in the presence of the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Salathe eighth edition of Diversity Media Awards, the awards dedicated to characters and content that have stood out for the worthy representation of people in matters of gender and gender identity, sexual and emotional orientation, age and generation, ethnicity, disability, physical appearance.

The event was presented by Francesca VecchioniPresident of the Diversity Foundation, e Monia Adjaliniof the Pavia Observatory: the latter has unveiled the Media Diversity Survey 2023 (DMR), the annual survey on the representation of diversity in Italian media and entertainment, conducted by the Diversity Foundation in collaboration with the Pavia Observatory and a Scientific Committee from several Italian universities.
The Diversity Media Awards have 10 categories: Best Italian TV Series, Best Foreign TV Series, Best Children’s TV Series, Best Italian Film, Best TV Program, Best Podcast, Best Radio Program, Best Digital Product, Creator of the Year, Personality of the Year year.

Until June 4, the media products found to be the most inclusive by the DMR analysis can be voted on by the public on the Diversity Media Awards website.
The winners, resulting from online voting, will be awarded on June 21 during an evening event at the Teatro Lirico in Milan. directed by Matilda De Angelis and Alberto Boubakar Malanchino and is broadcast again this year on Rai1, Saturday 1 July late at night.
During the event, prizes will also be awarded to the information, which is currently being evaluated by the Scientific Committee: Best Newspaper, Best Newspaper Article, Best Magazine Article, Best Web Article.
